A team game report: Johnstown 0-8 GF

Wednesday September 26
Johnstown 0-8 Glens Falls

At long last, the A team found its stride and played excellent soccer in crushing Johnstown 8-0. After a first quarter, Matt Parsons opened a scoring with an assist from Nate Spilman, his first of three. Carl Sopczyk scored shortly before halftime with a header of a Spilman cross. Seconds later, Parsons took advantage of a poor keeper clearance by hitting it into the open net. Christian Conklin capped off a fantastic game by putting a free kick through the wall and into the net. Kyle McMurtry had a pair of opportunistic goals and Jake Jacobs had a nice finish as well to round out the scoring. Evan McLaughlin did good work up top to set up a pair of goals. Keepers Ryan Montgomery and Taylor DelSignore split the shutout while Billy McMahon and Mike Kowalski had another stand out game in front of them. If the A team continues to play like this, they should have a fantastic season.

Note: ' means minute and () mean assist so Parsons (Spilman) 21' means Parsons scored in the 21st minute with an assist from Spilman.
