A message from Coach Shaver on varsity award winners:

Congratulations to the following boys soccer players who were recognized at yesterday's Capital Region Soccer Coaches Association annual banquet:

* Zack Weidner- Foothills 1st Team All-Star & Section II All-Star (also nominated for Section II Player of the Year)

* Ben Spilman- Foothills 2nd Team All-Star & Section II All-Star (also nominated for Section II Keeper of the Year)

* Josh Wadleigh- Foothills 2nd Team All-Star

* Peter Sliva- Foothills 2nd Team All-Star

Congratulations to each player! They certainly deserved the recognition and honor.

In addition, the Eastern Board of Approved Soccer Officials Association awarded the Section II Sportsmanship Award the Glens Falls boys varsity soccer team. This is an honor that I am very proud of for the entire program. This award highlights the fantastic spirit of fair play, dedication and hard work that each and every player, parent, and coach in our program has demonstrated, not just this year, but throughout much of my career. Congratulations to each and every one of you!

A team award winners and accomplishments

Congratulations to the following A team award winners...
-Co-MVPs: Kyle McMurtry and John Benjamin

-Most improved player: Sam Butz

-Golden boot (leading scorer): Kyle McMurtry


Other notable achievements include...
-Kyle McMurtry: 10 goals and 24 points on the season (both 2nd highest single season totals in A team history); 12 career A team goals (3rd highest).

-Sean Hooker: 4 consecutive games with at least one point (tied most ever)

-Team: 35 goals scored (2nd most ever); 4 consecutive wins (tied most ever); 2nd best home record ever (4-1-1)


Congratulations to all A teamers on a strong season and thank you for your hard work and committment. Best of luck to everyone who's playing JV next year.
